University Scholars Conference (USC) returns for its fourth edition and the Call for Papers is now officially open. USC 2025: Engineering, Innovation and Advancements, invites students, faculty, academics, and researchers to contribute and be part of a growing intellectual community to Kathmandu University on November 18-19, 2025. It is an opportunity to lead meaningful conversations and share your work with like minded people.
Since its first edition in 2021, USC has stood out as a student driven academic platform that champions innovation and interdisciplinary research in science, engineering, technology, and sustainability. More than 30 papers have been published in international journals through USC’s platform, with numbers growing each year. This year, USC 2025 is being led by Conference Chair Prof. Bivek Baral, Ph.D, and brings focus on three core themes: Advanced Manufacturing and Emerging Technology, Hydropower and Hydraulic Systems, and Energy Systems and Sustainability. These broad tracks are designed to invite exploration into current and future challenges that range from AI, robotics, and smart materials, to clean energy systems, climate resilience, and hydromechanical optimization. The conference also welcomes submissions on related topics beyond these categories, recognizing that innovation often thrives outside predefined
boundaries.
USC 2025 welcomes undergraduate scholars, researchers, and academicians to share their ideas, projects and research. The conference also features international keynote speakers, technical paper sessions, and robust support for publication fostering an environment that emphasizes learning, critical thinking, and academic growth through constructive feedback and interdisciplinary exchange. USC places significant emphasis on the involvement of university students. Whether at the early stages of academic exploration, engaged in a final-year capstone project, or working toward building a strong academic and professional portfolio, undergraduate students can find a valuable platform for exposure, feedback, and growth. By presenting at USC, students not only gain confidence in public speaking and academic writing but also get the chance to interact with peers and experts from diverse disciplines. These experiences help shape
critical thinking, broaden perspectives, and open doors to future opportunities, be it graduate school, fellowships, or industry research roles. In a setting that encourages exploration and mentorship, USC 2025 empowers students to become active contributors to Nepal’s growing research ecosystem.
All students, faculty, academicians and researchers are encouraged to participate, submittheir research, take part in meaningful discussions, and make the most of the engaging and supportive environment that USC 2025 has to offer. The trainings, technical paper sessions ensure that even first-time presenters feel supported and guided throughout the process.
